Fighting for people has always come naturally to Attorney Dawson, owing in large part to his heritage as an American Freedmen, who have a storied and rich tradition of fighting for justice and equality for all in this country and the world over.  His Freedmen lineage imbued in him the strength and perseverance to overcome tremendous societal and generational challenges growing up as a young male in hard-scrabble West Philly. That same tenacity empowered him to overcome the city’s perennially under-resourced public school system and his own underprivileged neighborhood to become the first in his family to attend and graduate from college.

Sharif is a graduate of Philadelphia’s Central High School, the city’s preeminent academic prep school and second-oldest public high school in the country, second only to Boston Latin. He then attended and graduated from the University of Pittsburgh where he became a double Pitt Panther, having earned his undergraduate degree with honors and law degree from Pitt as well.

Over the years as an accomplished attorney, Attorney Dawson has developed a keen appreciation and understanding of complex legal issues, and has represented many clients on a wide array of legal matters including criminal defense work, representing the federal government on complex and high-visibility government contracts for military aircraft spare parts, logistics services, and weapons systems, family/elder care law, personal injury cases, and as a court-certified arbitrator. He is a FINRA-certified neutral arbitrator trained to arbitrate securities disputes and has previously held Series 7 (general securities representative) and Series 66 (investment advisor representative) securities licenses.
